Statement
on Writing
Most people familiar with my work become
acquainted with it through my writing. But preceding my writing was
a decade or more as an artist and art teacher, then lecturer and most
recently, as an author reflecting on his studio and teaching experiences.
As such, my writing takes on a conversational style similar to the
one I am accustomed to; a closely made exchange between someone else
and myself. Unlike conversation, which is all extemporaneous- or it
is horrible- my writing, again like most, allows me to pursue a line
of thinking and reflection not given to spontaneous expression, and
so reader of my work will hopefully find a fuller exploration, better
documented and more carefully argued than might otherwise be had.
My writing is incomplete if it not only
provides an enlarged vision of the powers of art but also doable methods
by which any one sincere in their efforts can achieve the same...
